Consisting of a fan system, tube bundle and supporting structures, air-cooled heat exchangers are equipped with finned tubes to increase the surface area. This type of heat exchanger is generally preferred in applications where sufficient cooling water is not available. However, even when water is available, air-cooled heat exchangers can still be an ideal option, given the economic advantages or operating conditions.
